As of 1 January 2025, following the entry into force of the Law on the Reorganisation of the District Court of the Republic of Lithuania and amendments to the Law on the Establishment of the District Courts of the Republic of Lithuania and Determination of their Territories of Operation, the territories of the courts’ activities have been merged and redistributed.

After the merger of district court chambers and their territories of activity, 27 chambers continue to operate in district courts in Lithuania instead of the former 43 court chambers. One court chamber consists of 2 or more buildings located in different residential areas.

Changes in the functioning of district courts have been implemented seeking the following objectives:

to create conditions for the specialization of judges and increase the quality of judicial proceedings;

to solve the problems of uneven workload of judges and guarantee faster court proceedings for participants;

to effectively manage the funds of the judicial system.

Since 1 January 2025, the Šiauliai District Court has been composed of three chambers instead of the former five chambers, and the present chambers are: the Radviliškis Chamber, the Raseiniai Chamber and the Šiauliai Chamber. The seat of the Court is at the Šiauliai Chamber. The buildings of the court chambers which were in operation until 1 January 2025 in the towns of Joniškis and Kelmė, have been retained, i.e. the Radviliskis Chamber and the Raseiniai Chamber consist of two buildings each located in different districts.

Since 1 January 2025, the Raseiniai Chamber of Šiauliai District Court has been operating in two buildings: in Raseiniai, at 2 Tiesos street, and in Kelmė, at 60 Vytauto Didžiojo street. The territory of operation of the Raseiniai Chamber covers two districts: Kelmė District Municipality and Raseiniai District Municipality.

The Radviliškis Chamber of Šiauliai District Court also operates in two buildings: in Radviliškis, at 16 Vasario 16-osios street, and in Joniškis, at 2A Medžiotojų street. The territory of operation of the Radviliškis Chamber covers three municipalities: Joniškis District Municipality, Pakruojis District Municipality and Radviliškis District Municipality.

As a result of the structural reorganization, the names of the Kelmė Chamber and the Joniškis Chamber have been changed to refer to the locality in which the chambers are operating. The name of the Kelmė Chamber has been changed by the Raseiniai Chamber of the Šiauliai District Court in Kelmė, and the name of the Joniškis Chamber has been changed by the Radviliškis Chamber of the Šiauliai District Court in Joniškis.

Since 1 January 2025, the number of judge positions in the Šiauliai District Court has not changed – 46 (forty-six) positions remain.

There are 8 (eight) judge positions at the Raseiniai Chamber of Šiauliai District Court – four positions in each of the two court buildings in the towns of Raseiniai and Kelmė.

There are 12 (twelve) judge positions at the Radviliškis Chamber of the Šiauliai District Court – six positions in each of the court buildings in the towns of Joniškis and Radviliškis.

There are 26 (twenty-six) judge positions at the Šiauliai Chamber of Šiauliai District Court.
